NDIS Transport Funding 2025: Essential Guide
Getting to work, appointments, community activities or daily errands can be difficult when transport is a barrier. NDIS transport funding is provided to participants who cannot use public transport because of their disability. According to the official NDIS transport funding guidelines, this support helps participants travel to work, study, medical appointments or community activities.
But many participants still ask:
- What does NDIS transport funding actually cover?
- How much support can I get in 2025?
- Does my provider drive me to places?
- How do I claim it properly?
At STARR Care, we’re a registered NDIS provider in South Hedland, helping participants understand funding changes and make the most of their plans.
What Is NDIS Transport Funding 2025?
NDIS transport funding is money added to your plan to help you pay for travel when your disability makes it hard to use public transport.
It is not for fuel or car repayments unless transport is included in your employment or work-related supports.
This funding helps you with:
- Going to work, study or day programs
- Attending appointments or therapy
- Joining social or community activities
- Everyday travel needs related to your NDIS goals
Who Can Access NDIS Transport Funding 2025?
NDIS transport funding 2025 supports participants who cannot use public transport because of their disability. You may be eligible if:
🟠 You cannot use public transport because of your disability
🟠 You do not receive taxi subsidies from your state government
🟠 You travel for work, school, therapy, or community programs
🟠 You have transport needs written in your NDIS goals or plan
People with family members who drive them (like parents or carers) do not usually get separate transport funding unless it affects their independence.
NDIS Transport Funding Levels for 2025
There are three funding levels under NDIS transport funding 2025 depending on how often you travel. Participants receive a set amount depending on how often they travel for work, study or community activities.
| Level | Who It’s For | Yearly Transport Amount (approx.) |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Rare travel, mostly local only | $1,700 per year |
| Level 2 | Regular travel to community or day programs | $2,600 per year |
| Level 3 | Working, studying, or high community involvement | $3,900 per year |
| Employment Add-On | Working 15+ hours/week | Extra up to $1,500 |
Note: These transport amounts are based on the latest NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits 2025–26, which outline how much providers can charge and how funding is allocated across Australia.
